Self evaluation of my first mock.

In my performance I demonstrated clear elements of singing and acting, I was able to apply these musical theatre elements to my performance in many ways, for example there were clear elements of acting due to the emotion of the performance and I was able to add the vocals to the performance, combining the emotion. My performance  portrays how hurt and betrayed Eliza is after Alexander Hamilton admits to his extramarital affair, it is essential I express these feelings clear and well, in which I think I did well, I got feedback from my peers and also a teacher. I was told that the song suited my vocal tone, that my vocal expression is excellent and I used a good sense of rise and fall. However, If I could lift and open my eyes more often throughout the performance the audience would feel more involved and intrigued, I was also told how I need to work on the intensity before I start singing, for example I could focus on my postured facial expressions, and finally, I need to project and stay stiller for the ending to create and end with a gripping performance.
For future performances and rehearsals, I will make sure I am opening my eyes and interacting with the audience when I perform, I would like to have this perfected for the next time I perform.

  1. Some good points Sophie. Try to be a bit more detailed with your evaluations - what specific skills went well or need improving? Ensure your targets for future development are clear - maybe bullet points at the end with an action plan for achieving them.
