Performance Evaluation 10/12/18
My feedback for this act was mainly positive, overall I was fairly pleased with my feedback. It was said that there was clear characterisation, included some nice moments and the vocals were good.
I showed a sense of clear characterisation, the audience obviously knew who I was and what I was trying to achieve.
I apparently included some nice moments, for example I included a few winks there and then to entice the audience.
I was also loud enough, the biggest problem was that it was hard to hear what some people were saying, luckily the audience would hear me and what I was singing.
However, I few things that could have made it that little bit more effective was if I was more confident, bolder and express more.
Being confident is essential in order to deliver a good performance. I feel that it was obvious I was nervous, if I had relaxed I could have delivered a better performance.
I was told that I should have been bolder and expressed my action more, this would have intrigued the audience more and made it more interesting.
However, overall, I was estimated a merit for that performance. I was happy with this as I feel it wasn't my best performance.

Week Commencing 26/11/18
This week in our dance lessons we introduced 'the girls'. We had to come up with a routine individually for our girls to perform beside you. This showed how independent we can be, I managed with this, I came up with a routine which was simple. It worked well for myself and the girls. However, timing and order was an issue with this dance, I found myself getting lost and confused with what order everything was in. I found that many people struggled with this and it wasn't just me. to make sure I don't do things in the wrong order on the day of the performance I will run through the dance at least twice a day.
In our singing lesson we ran through the song a few times and then performed a little extract to the class. This went well, I performed a speaking part to the class.
Overall this week has been successful. Next week I will be performing this song and I am feeling confident.

Week Commencing 19/11/18
This week we got given a new song. We got given the song Wilkommen from the show Cabaret. This week I learnt many skills in order to give the best possible performance.
Research- I didn't know much about this song and show, therefore, I had to do a bit of research on the show, for example I researched what the musical is about and how long ago it was first performed, this gave me a brief idea about how I was going to perform it.
In our dance lesson this week we learnt most of the dance, it wasn't a difficult routine to pick up on which was good.
I was absent for the first singing lesson for this song, therefore I had to be independent and learn the words on my own. If I hadn't of done this I would have been behind and this could have potentially slowed the class down.

Performance Evaluation of 'Nothing like a Dame'
One strength of the performance is the connection we all made throughout the song, we all acknowledged one another which made the performance seem more human and real which was nice.
Another strength was the harmonising and projection at the end of the song, the harmonies created a strong sense of comradely between everybody, even though the projection was good at the end it still needed that little bit extra during the verses, at some points I could not hear my cast mates, maybe we needed more rehearsal on this . Another way to improve the performance is if I was more aware of my surroundings, most of the time when I was transitioning I would bump into someone along the way, in order to stop this from happening I could be more aware of where I am heading.
Overall, I thought the performance was successful, however, lacked in fluidity throughout and differed in volume and projection.

Week commencing 5/11/18
This week we learnt some new skills in order to perform a successful performance in the song 'nothing like a dame'.
One of those skills we learnt in dance was fluidity and transitions, this was an important skill, as the song is quite fast we had to learn how to make seamless transitions in order for the performance to look decent. As there is a lot of us performing this it was hard not to bump into everyone, to stop this we came up with a plan so the this would not happen, it was successful. At the end we had improved a lot and looked much better and clean.
To go along with the skill of fluidity and transitions is timings, timings was also hugely important within this song. For example one point within the performance were we much use the skill timings is when our group must move a bit earlier than the rest of the groups so we have time to get I our space to sing. If we had not done this it would look messy and also we wouldn't be able to project our voices to the max. So we used timing to assist this.

Week beginning 29/10/18
In our dance and singing lessons we learn many key skills for the song Nothing like a Dame.
One of them was optimism. Most of the class had to learn how to be optimistic when learning the choreography and lyrics to this song as many of us did not take to this song, maybe this was because we were not familiar to the song, however I had the attitude that just because the song might be boring and out of my comfort zone, doesn't mean the performance has to be the same. Being optimistic allowed me to enjoy performing and rehearsing the song.
In our dance lesson we worked on a skill called coordination, this skill is essential for dancers when learning a new routine. Personally, I think I have a long way to go until I am able to match the standard I would like to have in the future, it wasn't an easy thing to learn, I struggled with this skill but hopefully practicing this skill will enable me to be more confident and make my dancing look more fluid and smooth.
In the first singing lesson with Sam on this new song, i learnt a key skill called persistence. Certain people very much struggled with the tenor and bass range of the song as they are not used to using the lower parts of their voice. It took a lot of time and patience for those people to understand how to sing bass and tenor range. As a singer who sings much more comfortably within a tenor and alto range this wasn't too much of a challenge, However I learnt some new tips into how to project my voice when singing low as it can be hard, such as, keeping a dropped jaw to make sure the air comes from the diaphragm therefore much more power and volume.
